BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE and TRAINING contribute to being a professional inspector. Affordable pricing is naturally one of your consideration, however, it should not be your only consideration.
I joined the United states Air Force in 1983, and worked as a firefighter, fire inspector, fire engineer (building blue print reviews) and exposed to a variety of structures ranging from residential to commercial buildings, including military aircraft fuel bay hangers. Each structure required an evaluation and assessment, with a detailed report given to structural engineers incorporating a comprehensive and thorough description of the fire safety and health requirements specifically for the occupancy of the structure. As a veteran (retired June 2005), I am committed to the core values of the Air Force; integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do.
My training is important and continuous. Training reaffirms my current knowledge and provides new knowledge on a variety of systems and subjects in the construction industry, which is always changing. These items are not part of the TREC SOP inspection, however, having knowledge of radon, mildew/microbial/mold/fungi, lead paint, wood destroying insects (such as termite), enhances my ability to draw your attention to their potential existence.
